How to Manage Monitoring Companies

Introduction

Monitoring Companies in SecurityTrax allow you to easily integrate with numerous Central Stations. Our Central Station integrations allow us to automatically push customer information to the Central Stations, eliminating hours of redundant manual data entry which could lead to potential errors. 

Monitoring Companies are the means by which we connect a customer to a Central Station and can be utilized in the following ways:

Note: The Central Stations and Monitoring Companies listed below are only for example purposes

  • Create a Monitoring Company that links with one Central Station.
    • Central Station: XYZ Monitoring Inc. 
      • Monitoring Company: XYZ Monitoring
  • Create many Monitoring Companies that each link to the same Central Station.
    • Central Station: XYZ Monitoring Inc. 
      • Monitoring Companies:
        • XYZ Monitoring - In House Knocking Account
        • XYZ Monitoring - In House Phone Account
        • XYZ Monitoring - Sold Account
  • Create more than one Monitoring Company that each link to different Central Stations.
    • Central Station: XYZ Monitoring Inc. 
      • Monitoring Company: XYZ Monitoring
    • Central Station: AAA Monitoring Inc.
      • Monitoring Company: AAA Monitoring
  • Create a Monitoring Company without linking it to a Central Station.
    • Central Station: None
      • Monitoring Company: In House

Note: This can be used for Central Stations whose integration we have not yet built.

This page will show you how to manage Monitoring Companies on the admin side. This includes being able to view, create, and edit Monitoring Companies.

Terms

Central Station

A company that provides monitoring services for an alarm system. A Central Station can be set on a Monitoring Company which in turn can be assigned to a customer. 

Currently, SecurityTrax integrates with the following Central Stations:

Monitoring Company

A company which links with a Central Station to provide monitoring services to a customer. To learn more about how these work on the customer page click the following link: Monitoring Company on Customer

Usage

View

  1. While logged into SecurityTrax, click on your Company Name or the Hamburger icon Screen Shot 2019-07-09 at 1.29.49 PM.png in the upper-left header.
    • Note: Once clicked, the hamburger will change to Screen Shot 2019-07-09 at 1.30.41 PM.png.
  2. Under Admin, click Company Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Integrations section.
  4. In the Integrations section, click Monitoring Companies.
  5. In the Monitoring Companies section, click on the row of the desired monitoring company.

Create

  1. In the Monitoring Companies section, click Add.
  2. In the Add Monitoring Company window, fill out the necessary fields.
  3. Click Save.

Note: After creating a new monitoring company, you need to set up the monitoring company integration in order to share data with the monitoring company. For specific details for each monitoring company, please see the documentation with the named monitoring company.

Edit

  1. In the Monitoring Companies section, click on the row of the desired monitoring company.

  3. Click Save.
